tap tap tap… is this thing on?

for a while now I’ve had a profile on the fediverse as makergeek@hometech.social which has been fine, a good community that I’m interested in on home automation etc.

However, I’ve been aware that in theory it is possible eto connect my wordpress blog with activity pub so that I can appear more properly as @Daniel@makergeek.co.uk

this then is a test of that, I think I have the wiring sorted out. This being a bitnami wordpress based in AWS ligthsail, I had to add a custom route re-write to the letsencrypt setup to sort out the webfinger api. and I think that did the trick, albeit I’m still just trying to figure out exactly how this will all work.
