Conflicting interests
Last week and this week saw me do two different things which reflect the two parts of my interests, my computer geek side and my woodworking side.
That’s exactly what I intended to do….honest.
The more I turn, the more I notice I have two modes of operation for producing items. The first mode is the considered approach I know I should take. I sketch some designs in my makers notebook, think about my plan, consider the order to do things in. Then I go to the garage and…
Wooden door latch

Closing the door on a long standing todo.
Some time ago I started a project…, OK quite a long time ago…, alright – I’m slightly embarrassed to admit it was over 2 years ago. My bedroom is pretty big so I decided it could stand to lose a couple of feet to have a decent size built-in wardrobe.

Tidying up my workspace
Having spent some time in someone else’s workshop I picked up some things about their setup which I liked, and decided to invest some time in making some improvements in my workshop.
My kind of holiday
Last week Kat and I went on holiday to visit her father’s house in France. I took with me some tools and overalls so that I could spend some time whilst there doing some wood turning.
Hampshire woodturners – September
This month’s wood turning group was a pretty good one, both for the demo and for my ‘haul’.
This is ‘turning’ into a bad habit
Recently my resolve to save money and be good has somewhat fallen apart. I’ve been blowing payrise money on new tools, and generally talking myself into things that I should probably not be spending money on.
