Weekend in France
Last weekend I went to France for my brother’s stag weekend. Nine guys in a few gites, loads of booze and some silly games – it made for a pretty entertaining weekend.
Re-inventing the wheel
I have for some time been playing with woodturning on a lathe I got from my father. He gave it to me with a box of bits, some scraps of wood, some chisels, sharpening stones, oils… and a book. Keen to get going I leaped into action setting everything up and having a go.

Amateur woodwork
My second passion after software engineering is woodwork. After a hard day sat in front of a computer with not much to show for my labours, it is refreshing to be able to work with a real material and produce something tangible. My latest effort was this dish:

I’ve been working now for about seven years in the area of software test. I frequently read about software engineering issues online, but often find the role of software test either scarcely mentioned, or written off as the job somewhere well beneath that of ‘programmers’ or ‘developers’.

So it’s two weeks since I had my eyes zapped, and I am very happy. Not least because now that 2 weeks is up I no longer have to do eye drops 4 times a day, and sleep in eye shields.
